Futbol Uruguayo 2001

Futbol Uruguayo 2001 is the second Panini album of the Uruguayan football after Copa Coca-Cola 2000. The cover of the album shows the iconic tower "de los homenajes", which is part of the "Estadio Centanario" of Montevideo.  The 2001 Primera Division was contested by 18 clubs, which were first divided in three groups. The best 10 clubs proceeded to the double tournament Apertura and Clausura, whereas the others to the Campeonato Permanencia to determine the clubs to be relegated.

The album follows the tournament division, starting with the 10 clubs playing the Apertura and Clausura and continuing with the other clubs. For both groups there is first a page with the stickers of the home kit followed by the club pages shown in alphabetical order. For each club there is a total of 22 stickers: the team photo composed by four stickers, the club badge (round sticker), the flag (square sticker), and 16 players in action. The badge and flag stickers are numbered with letters. With the collection there are also two extra stickers with the logos of the sponsors (Solana and Tenfield). Overall it is an exhaustive collection, including all players and clubs. However, the quality of the stickers is not the top, as there are no metallic/special stickers and some photos of the players in action are not very sharp.

Panini Uruguay Clausura 2008

Clausura 2008 is the second last album produced by Panini for the Uruguayan league, as the series ends with the Apertura 2009. It includes a total of 208 stickers with all the 16 Primera Division teams. Stickers of this collections are large, with players in action and metallic badges. Overall this is the best quality album from the Panini Uruguay series.

The album cover with a simple foot kicking a ball is similar to other Panini league albums from 2008 and 2009. However, in this case the design is different (for example Foot 2009, Apertura 2009). Behind the cover there are instructions on how to complete the album and the collection checklist (only numbers) from 1 to 208. After the fixtures of the Clausura tournament, the 16 clubs are shown one after the other with a total of 13 stickers per club over two pages: the metallic badge, the team photo, and 11 players in action. After the last club the album ends with no extra sections.

River Plate and Penarol concluded the tournament both a the first place with 37 points. In the play-off game organized to decide the winner, Penarol defeated River Plate 5-3. Paulo Pezzolano (Liverpool) was the topscorer of the tournament with 12 goals.
