Panini Fussball 81

Fussball 81 is the third Panini album of the German football. The collection includes all the Bundesliga clubs and the Second Liga (only club badges) for the season 1980/81. The album features also a large section about the European cups with team photo stickers of the competing clubs, and many other sections with stickers.

The album begins with the contents and an introductory page including three metallic stickers (Federation logo, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal trophies) and a puzzle composed by 9 stickers with the map of Germany and the locations of the Bundesliga clubs on the map. Then, the 18 Bundesliga clubs are shown in alphabetical order with 20 stickers over two pages for each club: the metallic club badge, the team photo (composed by four stickers) and 15 players.

In the central pages of the album there are some special sections. A large drawing realized by the cartoonist Prosdocimi depicts a crazy game to be completed with 20 stickers. In the pages behind, photos of the Bundesliga fans are shown to be filled with 18 stickers (one per club). The album features also two pages with stickers of the trainers, managers, referees, Germans abroad, and other prominent Bundesliga players. For these two pages there are in total 36 half-size stickers (18 regular stickers).

After the last Bundesliga club, the album resumes with the Second Liga, divided in the North (22 clubs) and in the South (20 clubs) groups. The stickers of this section are a large map of the Second Liga with the club locations (9 stickers) and one badge sticker per club.

In the last part, the album focuses on the European competitions of the 1980/81 season: European Cup, Cup Winners' Cup, and UEFA Cup. Here we find the metallic stickers of the three trophies and the team photo stickers of all of the teams that reached the quarterfinals, except for the German clubs (Bayern Munchen and Foruna Dusseldorf) that are just printed in the album. Liverpool is the only team photo composed by two stickers, whereas the other team photos are individual stickers. This collection includes, therefore, the team photo stickers of some historical football clubs (Liverpool, Inter, Feyenoord, Benfica, Real Madrid, etc.). There are in total 25 stickers in this European section. The collection features also 24 stickers with the players of the German national team. Those are extra stickers that are not part of the album.

In the season 1980/81, Bayern Munchen won the Bundesliga with the top goalscorer of the tournament Karl-Heinz Rumenigge (29 goals). In the European Cup, Liverpool defetaed Real Madrid in the final (1-0), whereas Dinamo Tbilisi won the Cup Winners' Cup (2-1 against Carl Zeiss Jena) and Ipswich Town the Uefa Cup.

Panini Fussball 80

Fussball 80 is the second collection of the German football produced by Panini. The album includes all the Bundesliga clubs and also the National teams taking part in the upcoming tournament Europa 80. Funnily, the players of the Bundesliga clubs are printed on the album and the stickers are only about actions taken during Bundesliga matches. The same is done for the German National team in the Europa 80 section. Therefore, the only stickers of player portraits are from the other National teams taking part in the competition. For this collection there is no poster or updates, but there are 36 extra stickers with the club badges of the main European clubs.

The album begins with the puzzle of the German map including the locations of the Bundesliga clubs. This introductory page features a total of 8 stickers and the table of contents. Then the 18 Bundesliga clubs are shown in alphabetical order. For each club there are 16 stickers: the metallic club badge, the team photo and 14 action stickers taken from the same Bundesliga game. As said, the player portraits and details are just printed on the album.

The section dedicated to Euro 80 starts with two introductory pages. In the first one, the previous winners and key players are shown. Here we find the stickers of the Soviet Union (winners in 1960), Spain (1964), Italy (1968), Czechoslovakia (1976), whereas Germany (1972) is only printed in the album. For the players there are the stickers of Jaschin (Soviet Union), Riva (Italy), Amancio (Spain) and Victor (Czechoslovakia), with Beckenbauer just printed. In the second page, the Europa 80 tournament in Italy is introduced with eight additional stickers: the trophy, the map, the mascot, the logo, and the four stadiums of the competition (Turin, Milan, Rome, Naples). The album continues showing the eight competing teams. For Germany there are 13 stickers over two pages with the badge sticker and 12 action stickers taken from the match against Wales, whereas for the other teams there are 9 stickers on one page: the badge, the team photo and 14 players (two players per sticker).

Football 88 is a Panini sticker album of the French football, including all the clubs of Division 1 and Division 2 for the season 1987/1988. The collection features also a poster about the European cups of the season, including the club badge stickers of the competing clubs.

The album shows first the clubs of Division 1 in alphabetical order, with 18 stickers per team: the metallic club badge, the team photo (two stickers), the coach, and 14 players. Right after the clubs of Division 1, the album presents the Division 2 with the 36 competing clubs divided in Group A and Group B. For each club there is a club badge sticker (half size) and a team photo sticker, but there are no stickers of players.

The album does not include other sections, but it features the poster "Les coupes d'Europe 1988/1988" with 24 stickers for a total of 48 club badges (two badges per sticker) of all of the best clubs taking part into the three European Cups of the season.

In the season 1987/1988, PSV Eindhoven won the European Cup, Bayern Leverkusen the Uefa Cup, and Mechelen the Cup Winners' Cup. In France, AS Monaco won the Division 1 and Jean-Pierre Papin was the topscorer of the tournament with 19 goals.
