Panini Apertura 2009 (Argentina)

The 2009 Apertura tournament was part of the 2009-10 Primera Division season in Argentina. The Apertura was scheduled from August to December 2009 and Banfield won the title with a total of 41 points. They had also the top goalscorer of the tournament, Santiago Silva with 14 goals.

Panini released a sticker album of the tournament, which is the 8th Panini album of the Argentinian football since the first in 2005. This is the only album from 2009, as the Clausura 2009 and 2010 albums were not released. The cover of the album is the same used by Panini for many other countries in 2009, like the Panini Superleague (Greece) or the Panini Foot (2009).

The album begins with the fixtures of the Primera Division and the first two stickers: the team photo of the Clausura 2009 winners (Velez Sarsfield). The album continues with the 20 competing clubs of the Primera Division shown in alphabetical order. Each club includes the stickers of the metallic club badge, the pennant with the club badge and a variable number of players. There are 14 players for the major clubs (Boca, Independiente, Racing, River, San Lorenzo, and Velez) and 11 players for the other clubs.

After the clubs of Primera Division there are two pages with star players in action (Idolos en Accion). Here we find 20 stickers, one per club, with the main players in action. We can mention Martin Palermo (Boca Jrs), Ariel Ortega (River Plate), Veron (Estudiantes) and "Papu" Gomez (San Lorenzo).

The album continues with the clubs of Primera B Nacional (second division). For each club there are 13 half size stickers: the metallic badge, the pennant, and 11 players.
At the end of the album there is a page with the list of Argentinian champions and three special metallic stickers: the logo of the Argentinian Football Association (AFA), the Copa Libertadores, and the Copa Sudamericana.
