The Futbol Argentino – Liga Profesional 2024 is Panini's sticker collection dedicated to the Argentine Primera División season. Released in September 2024, the album contains 508 stickers and features all 28 clubs competing in the 2024 Liga Profesional. The collection does not have a hardcover edition, nor were any update or extra stickers released, making the 508 stickers of the main album the complete collection.
The album opens with an introductory page featuring the phrase “Bienvenidos al Fútbol Campeón del Mundo e bicampeón de América” and three shiny stickers: the league logo, the Argentine Football Association logo and the official ball. The collection then immediately looks back at the first major competition of the year with a two-page section dedicated to the Copa de la Liga 2024. Ten stickers illustrate the final phase of the tournament, including highlights from the competition and the final victory of Estudiantes.
The main part of the album is dedicated to the 28 clubs participating in the 2024 Primera División. The teams are presented in alphabetical order, with each club receiving two pages and 17 stickers. The section begins with a shiny club badge followed by 16 player portrait stickers, providing a straightforward presentation of each squad.
In the centre of the collection is El Semillero, a special section dedicated to some of the young talents emerging from Argentine football. It contains nine action stickers, including three shiny stickers featuring Aaron Anselmino of Boca Juniors and Claudio Echeverri and Franco Mastantuono of River Plate. This is one of the most interesting sections for collectors looking back at the players who were beginning to attract attention at the time.
The final major sticker section is El Camino del Campeón, which moves away from domestic football to celebrate Argentina's triumph at the 2024 Copa América. Across two pages, ten stickers illustrate the national team's path to the title. Two of the stickers are shiny and feature Lionel Messi celebrating.
Immediately afterwards comes a special page entitled “Gracias Fideo”, dedicated to Ángel Di María and his career with the Argentine national team. Rather than containing new stickers, the page reproduces images of older Di María stickers in the album itself, creating a small retrospective celebrating his international career. The collection then concludes with a control table covering all the stickers in the album.
The 2024 album also contains several well-known names from Argentine and South American football, including Edinson Cavani and Gary Medel, alongside younger players such as Mastantuono. In retrospect, Mastantuono is particularly interesting for collectors, having subsequently moved from River Plate to Real Madrid.
From a sporting perspective, Vélez Sarsfield won the 2024 Liga Profesional, while Franco Jara finished as the league's top scorer with 13 goals. The album therefore captures an interesting moment in Argentine football, combining established international names, experienced South American players and a new generation of young talents.
