Panini Fotboll 87

Fotboll 87 is the second Panini sticker album dedicated to Swedish football, following the stylish Fotboll 86. Once again published by Panini, the album covers both the top division (Allsvenskan) and Division 1, and adds a touch of international prestige with a short but memorable section on major European clubs.

The album begins with the 12 clubs of Allsvenskan, presented in alphabetical order. Each team is given a dedicated page with 18 stickers: the metallic club badge, the team photo, the coach, and 14 player stickers. This is one fewer than the previous year (which had 15 players per team), but the layout remains clean and visually appealing. Each player sticker is accompanied by a short text with basic information and statistics. The photo quality, print finish, and metallic elements continue Panini’s late-80s tradition of high production value.

The second section is dedicated to Division 1, which includes 28 clubs divided into Norra and Södra groups. Each team is represented by the shiny badge (half sticker) and the team photo sticker.

At the end of the album, there is a special bonus section titled Europeiska Storklubbar (European major clubs), featuring 8 team photo stickers. The teams included are Ajax, Napoli, Barcelona, Feyenoord, Bayern München, Liverpool, Juventus, and Arsenal. Despite its brevity, this section stands out for the inclusion of some legendary squads, and particularly for the Napoli team photo featuring Diego Armando Maradona, a major highlight for collectors and fans of the era.

In total, the album includes 266 stickers and did not have any update sets or extra releases. Unlike later albums such as Fotboll 91 or Fotboll 93, there is no section on the Swedish national team or Swedish players abroad, which would become key features in the following years. Overall, Fotboll 87 is a faithful continuation of Panini’s Swedish series — slightly more compact than Fotboll 86 but still classy and complete.

The 1987 Allsvenskan title was won by Malmö FF, who topped the league and then triumphed in the championship play-offs, confirming their dominance in Swedish football that season. The top scorer of the entire season, including play-offs, was Lars Larsson, who scored 19 goals.
