Panini Fussball '79

Fussball Bundesliga '79 is the first album printed by Panini for the German Bundesliga, in collaboration The album was produced in collaboration with the publisher Bergmann that released Bundesliga albums for the previous seasons. The collection includes the Bundesliga clubs and also a large section dedicated to the European cups, with stickers of the main clubs taking part into the competitions.

The album begins with a foreword and a puzzle of the German football map composed by six stickers. The Bundesliga clubs are then shown following the alphabetical order of their cities. For each club there is the badge sticker and 15 player stickers. The pecularity of this album is that some stickers are player portrait, while others are players taken in action. In the 1978/1979 season, Hamburger SV won the Bundesliga with one point more than VfB Stuttgart. The top scorer was Klaus Allofs (Fortuna Dusseldorf) with 22 goals.

The second part of the album is dedicated to the three European Cups (Champions Cup, Cup Winners' Cup, and UEFA Cup). For each tournament there are 22 stickers with the trophies and the competing teams. The main teams have the team photo composed by four stickers, whereas the others have just one individual sticker. It was a great season for the German clubs in Europe: Borussia Monchengladbach won the UEFA Cup defeating Red Star Belgrad in the final (1-1, 1-0); Fortuna Dusselford reached the final of the Cup Winners' Cup, where they lost against Barcelona (3-4 after extra time); in the Champions Cup, FC Koln reached the semifinal where they were defeated by the cup winners Nottingham Forest.
