Ski Austria Skistars 2012/13 is a special sticker album published by the Austrian Post, dedicated entirely to the Austrian Alpine ski team for the 2012/13 season. This album features 320 regular stickers alongside 40 extra stamps, which are placed on a dedicated double-page spread in the center of the album. The result is a hybrid collectible that appeals both to sports fans and stamp collectors.

The album opens with a richly structured introductory section composed of 10 stickers. These include the Ski Austria logo, the ÖSV logo, portraits of key federation figures such as Prof. Peter Schröcksnadel and Dr. Klaus Leistner, two stickers representing FIS medals, and a four-sticker composition of the Ski World Cup trophy.

The presentation then moves to the national team, beginning with the women’s squad, represented through 16 stickers, followed by the men’s team with 21 stickers. This section offers a first overview of the athletes selected for the season before the album shifts toward a more discipline-based structure. A dedicated page with eight stickers is reserved for the trainers, underlining the importance of coaching staff in Austria’s high-performance ski system.

The core of the album explores the athletes in detail, organized by discipline. Both women and men are presented separately, with sections for downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and combined. Within each discipline, the athletes appear through a mix of portrait and action stickers.

After the competitive sections, the album shifts to a celebratory tone with three final thematic parts. The first is dedicated to the legends of Austrian skiing, with a total of 70 stickers. Here, the collection pays tribute to iconic names such as Annemarie Moser-Pröll, Anita Wachter, Ulrike Maier, Renate Götschl, Patrick Ortlieb, and Michael Walchhofer, among many others.

The following section, titled “ÖSV-Team”, presents athletes in a more relaxed and informal setting, showing them in casual clothing and playful poses, whereas the final section consists of 11 stickers capturing emotional highlights from the previous season, focusing on podium celebrations and memorable sporting moments.

From a sporting perspective, the 2012/13 season was particularly significant for Austrian skiing. Marcel Hirscher secured the overall FIS Alpine Ski World Cup title. In the women’s competition, Anna Fenninger finished third overall in a season dominated by Tina Maze.
