Panini World Cup 2002 - Korea Japan

The official sticker album for the 2002 FIFA World Cup was released by Panini and features a total of 576 stickers covering all 32 participating teams. Although there was no official update set for this collection, Panini did release five additional stickers for Brazil, featuring Marcos, Juan, Edmílson, Belletti, and Ronaldinho.
The album opens with an introductory page containing four stickers: the World Cup trophy, the official emblem, the tournament mascot, and the poster. This is followed by two pages dedicated to the tournament program and the stadiums in South Korea and Japan, with a total of 20 stadium stickers included in this section.
The teams are then presented in the order of the competition's group stage. Each team typically has 18 stickers spread across two pages: a team photo, a shiny federation logo, and 16 player stickers. However, three teams—Russia, Ecuador, and Tunisia—are featured on a single page with only 10 stickers: the shiny federation logo and nine player stickers, each featuring two players, still totaling 18 players.
It’s worth noting that Panini did not have full licensing rights for Spain, Ireland, and England. As a result, these teams appear in the album without official kits or federation logos.
The 2002 World Cup itself was a controversial tournament, especially regarding South Korea’s victories over Italy and Spain, which sparked considerable debate. In the end, Brazil claimed their fifth World Cup title by defeating Germany in the final, with Ronaldo finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with 8 goals.
