Panini Champions League 2009-2010

Official sticker album

The 2010 edition does not differ much from the previous one, except for the appearance of the teams in the album, which is not anymore according to the alphabetic order, but it follows the division of the teams in the group stage.
There are 4 introductory stickers on a silver foil: Champions League logo, final in Madrid, the ball of the final and the cup

The cup will be raised in Madrid by Internazionale Milano, after an extraordinary season, where they won the Italian league, the Italian cup and the Champions League defeating the winners of the Premier League (Chelsea), the Liga (Barcelona) and the Bundesliga (Bayern Munchen). A well deserved trophy!

The title holder Barcelona did a great performance but it was defeated by Inter in the semifinal. After losing 3-1 in San Siro, they did not manage to do better than 1-0 in Camp Nou, after a thrilling match in which Inter played most of the game with 10 players. In Barcelona we can find Ibrahimovic, who was transferred from Inter in an exchange with Eto'o.

This is FC Internazionale Milano as it appears on the album. The main characters of the season were Julio Cesar (great savings against Barcelona and Bayern), Samuel (named "the wall"), Cambiasso (amazing play-maker), Sneijder, Eto'o and Milito (two spectacular goals in the final).

For Real Madrid stars (Kakà, Ronaldo, Raul, Benzema), it was a disappointing season.

In the last part of the album there are other 16 stickers: 14 of them are dedicated to the Uefa club football awards winners (Buffon, Cech, Terry, Puyol, Seedorf, Lampard, Gerrard, Xavi, Kakà, Ronaldinho, Eto'o,Ronaldo, Raul, Messi) and 2 stickers to the Women's Champions League (logo and trophy).

Panini Champions League 2008-2009

Official sticker album

The Panini Champions League Album of the season 2008-2009 is pretty similar to the previous season. As an introduction there are 8 stickers, four of which are printed on a silver foil. These special stickers are the champions league logo, the ball of the final and the cup (2 stickers).

The team appearance starts again with the title holders, in this case Manchester United. Among the team we find some legendary players (Ryan Giggs, Scholes, Rooney) and Cristiano Ronaldo, who will move to Real Madrid at the end of the season. Again there are 17 stickers for each team: logo (silver foil) and 16 players.

Manchester reached again the final, but this time they lost against Barcelona (2-0). The catalan team had great young talents and thus a glad future for the coming years. This is the Barcelona team as it appears on the album:

The last part of the album contains other 12 stickers:

3 to the goalscorers (Raul, van Nistelrooy, Shevchenko)

Panini Champions League 2007-2008

Official Sticker Collection

Panini started a Champions League collection with the season 1999-2000. After three years the saga was interrupted and re-started in the season 2006-2007 with a rather small collection (384 stickers). We show here the album of the following season (2007-2008).  In the first page we find 4 stickers (as shown in the picture below) including the cup and the offical ball.

The collection continues on page 3 with other four stickers: two dedicated to the winners of the previous season (AC Milan), one to the Fifa Fair Play and one to the final of the coming season (in Moscow).

The team collection starts with AC Milan, the Champions League holders. After this, all the other teams appear in alphabetical order. Each team has 17 stickers: one silver logo and 16 players.

The winner of the Champions League 2008 is Manchester United, after a thrilling final against Chelsea. This is the Manchester UTD team that appears on the album:

After all the teams, the album ends with the history of the Champions League finals since the year 2000 (only pictures, no stickers).

For each team we have thus 2 top players stickers, printed on a silver shining foil. Next to these stickers, there is a short description of the player history and characteristics.
The best player of the Ligue 1 in the season 2010/2011 was certainly the young belgian Eden Hazard. He played amazingly, driving Lille to the conquest of the League. Hazard is now playing for Chelsea in the Premier League.

Among these stickers we have Michel Rio (fastest goal with 8 seconds in 1992), Laurent Paganelli (youngest debutant in 1978) and Jean-Luc Ettori (record of appearances, with 602 matches in Ligue 1).
The teams of Ligue 2 are placed on one page and have 7 stickers each: 1x team logo (silver foil), 2x squad, 4x players (a total of 16 players in 4 stickers).
