Panini Ciclismo 85 (Colombia)

After the Sprint albums released in Europe in the 70's, Panini presents a new cycling sticker collection in Colombia for the season 1985. The choice is not surprising, because the cycling movement was growing year after year in Colombia, and they were getting good results with their unpredictable climbers:  Francisco Rodriguez got the third place in the Vuelta 1985 and Parra few years later (1988) was third at the Tour de France.

Ciclismo 85 is the first of three Colombian albums dedicated to cycling, followed by the 1987 and 1989 editions. Three years later, Panini started also a football sticker collection (Futbol 88). The album Ciclismo 85 includes first a large section dedicated to the Colombian cyclists and then it shows the main riders of the best cycling teams of the rest of the world. In between, the album shows the route of the 1985 Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, Tour du Dauphiné, and Vuelta a Colombia.

The album begins with some introductory pages describing the highlights of the previous season for the Colombian riders, with four large photos composed by four stickers each. The first one with Alfonso Florez at the Tour de France 1984, the second one with the Vuelta a Colombia in Bogotà, the third one dedicated to Montoya, who was the best climber of the Tour de l'Avenir 1984, and the last one with the Colombian climbers at the Tour de France 1984.

The winners of the previous Vuelta a Colombia are then proposed with a total of 19 stickers, followed by the presentation of the 1985 edition, with a photo composed by four stickers about the riders climbing the Pantano de Vargas in Paipa.

The album continues with the presentation of the professional Colombian riders. In this section there are 24 stickers of Colombian riders and four stickers composing a shoot taken at the Vuelta de la Costa. The festival of the Colombian cycling continues with 93 stickers of the Colombian "beatles" (Escarabajos), the nickname used to describe the Colombian riders known at the National level. Right after, there is space also for the Colombian trainers (four stickers), the main riders from Latin America (9 stickers), and the best Soviets (6 stickers).

The second part of the album includes, one after the other, the best teams in Europe. For each team only the main riders are included, with a variable number of stickers per team. After a picture dedicated to Herrera, Hinault and Fignon and composed by four stickers, the album shows a total of 28 different teams. The most remarkable teams and riders are Renault Elf (with Marc Madiot, Thierry Marie, Laurent Fignon), La Vie Claire (with Bernard Hinault, Greg Lemond), Peugeot (with Robert Millar, Gilbert Duclos-Lassalle), Panasonic (with Pascal Simon, Steven Rooks), La Redoute (with Stephen Roche), Del Tongo (with Giuseppe Saronni), Carrera (with Guido Bontempi, Roberto Visentini), Santini (with Lucien van Impe), Orbea (with Pedro Delgado), Reynolds (with Miguel Indurain), Vini Ricordi (with Riccardo Magrini), Gis (with Francesco Moser), Sammontana (with Moreno Argentin).

The album features also eight stickers of cycling legends, among them Raymond Poulidor, Felice Gimondi, Jacques Anquetil, and Eddy Merckx. The last page of the album includes a panoramic photo of the Tour de France 1984 composed by four stickers. Overall, Ciclismo 85 is a complete and legendary collection, with high quality of album and stickers.

Panini Campeonato Nacional 2023 (Chile)

Panini Campeonato Nacional 2023 is the official sticker collection of the Chilean football, including all the clubs of Primera Division and Primera B. It is a big return for Panini in Chile, after eight albums of the local league released from 2011 to 2018. The 2023 edition is an unexpected album, which was released also in the hardcover version, including a total of 562 stickers and 50 cards of legendary players.

After the table of contents, the album shows the 16 clubs of Primera Division in alphabetical order. For each club there are 17 stickers displaced over two pages: the shiny club badge and 16 player portrait stickers. The section dedicated to the Primera B (the second league) starts right after, with 12 stickers on one page for each team: the shiny badge and 11 player portrait stickers.

In the last part of the album there are still four sections for a total of 98 stickers, out of which 82 are shiny stickers! The first two sections are the Golden players and Silver players from the leagues, with a total of 32 shiny stickers on four pages (16 player portraits and 16 in action). The large section Nuestras Leyendas includes 50 shiny and well-designed stickers of legendary players throughout the history of the Chilean league. The last section is about the TNT Sports TV, with 16 stickers of the journalists and specialists of the foorball channel.

In addition to the 562 stickers of this collection, there are also 50 extra cards with the Legends of the Chilean championship (Leyenda de campeonato). In each sticker packet there is one card, whereas the card holder is included with the empty album.

Overall, Campeonato Nacional 2023 is a majestic collection, in which Panini put lots of efforts and thoughts. The album is a clear improvement compared to the previous editions.

In the Primera Division 2023, Huachipato won the title with just one point more than Cobresal and two more than Colo-Colo. The Argentinian striker Fernando Zampedri (Universidad Catolica) was the topgoalscorer of the tournament with 17 goals.
