Panini Wales 2016

Euro 2016 is an historical event for UK and Ireland, as they will be represented by England, Wales, Ireland, and Northern Ireland. To celebrate this event Panini published official campaign sticker albums for these four National teams. We present here the one dedicated to Wales, but Ireland and Northern Ireland have a very similar one. For England it was released also an official sticker album few months before.
The album opens with the introductory section "Together. Stronger". Here there are five stickers on one page: the Federation logo (shining sticker), the Cardiff City Stadium, The team photo (two stickers), and the National team coach Chris Coleman. The album then includes the "Wales squad" with 36 stickers (on four pages) of players that are part of the National team. Then the collection goes deeper into the squad presenting 20 players in more details. Each player is shown on one page with characteristics, history, and six stickers: player portrait (shining sticker) and five action stickers (two individuals, one horizontal, and one photo composed by two stickers). The list of the 20 players included is the following: Hennessey, Fon Williams, Gunter, Richards, Collins, Ashley Williams, Chester, Taylor, Davies, Cotterill, Allen, King, Ramsey, Ledley, Edwards, George Williams, Bale, Robson-Kanu, Church, and Vokes.

Inside the album there are also two sections "The Road to France" with the successfull campaign during the qualification stage. In total there are 22 action stickers displaced over four pages.

The section "Campaign Heroes" includes 12 stickers on two pages with the most remarkable and effective players during the campaign. Two of these stickers are shining: the shot stopper Hennessey and the star striker Robson-Kanu.

Last page of the album wishes "Bon Voyage" to the team with a nine sticker puzzle of celebrations.

Eredivisie Album 2016 (Plus)

It was in the season 2010/2011 that the last sticker album of the Eredivisie was published (AH Eredivisie 2011). After 5 years, with big surprise the supermarket chain Plus released an official sticker collection of the Eredivisie. The album opens with some general introductory pages with no stickers and then the 18 Eredivisie teams are shown in alphabetical order. Each team displaced over two pages includes 12 stickers: 11 players and the club badge. On the team page there are also details of the club, the stadium, and the home/away kit of the season. No other sections are included, therefore the set counts 216 stickers. Player stickers are innovative, with personal and professional details of the players and all their signatures.

Due to this long break and the young spirit of the Dutch competition, this album includes many rookie stickers. Ajax has a talented squad with the forward Milik, the technical El Ghazi, the complete midfielder Bazoer and the defenders Tete and Riedewald. Top scorer of the league is Vincent Janssen, young forward of AZ. In Feyenoord the defender Kongolo is already requested by European clubs. Jetro Willems was one of the most effective players of PSV who reached the round of 16 in the Champions League this season. Twente has one of the youngest team with the fabulous Hakim Ziyech (17 goals this season so far), the Peruvian Renato Tapia (who was transferred to Feyenoord during the winter market), and Ter Avest (born on 1997, but already a regular player in the squad). FC Utrecht includes the prolific striker Sebastien Haller (17 goals so far) and the American Rubio Rubin. Vitesse cooperates with Chelsea receiving the loans of Isaiah Brown, Lewis Baker, and Solanke (1997, 7 goals this season but unfortunately not included in this collection). Also the Albanian Rashica (1996, 8 goals) deserves to be mention.
