Panini Foot 2012 - France

La collection officielle de stickers (Ligue 1, Ligue 2, National Féminines)

The "Panini Foot 2012" is a complete guide of French football for the season 2011-2012, including all the teams of Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and the Women National team. This album appeared in December 2011, during the 50 years celebrations of Panini (1961-2011). For this reason the album starts with a celebrative stickers "Panini 50" on the page with the match calendar of Ligue 1.

The album has a similar structure of the previous edition. Each Ligue 1 team is placed on four pages; the first page has four stickers: one golden team logo, the team squad (divided in two stickers) and  the coach (one sticker placed horizontally). In the other three pages there are 20 players portraits (on 20 stickers) and one star player in action (one silver sticker), plus there is space for the winter transfers up to 4 stickers ("zone transferts").
At the end of the season Montpellier won the Ligue 1 unexpectly. The star of the team is Younes Belhanda (silver sticker) and best scorer Olivier Giroud (who was transferred to Arsenal for the next season).

Paris Saint-Germain finished at the second place, with great performances by Pastore, Ménez and Nené. They were very active during the winter transfers. In fact, there are 5 update stickers: Ancelotti (new coach), Alex, Maxwell, Thiago Motta and Le Crom.

As for PSG there is one more stickers than the places available on the "zone transferts", one sticker can be placed on top of one other gluing only the top part of it, in this way:

The "set transferts" with the update of the winter transfers was out in April 2012 and contains 53 stickers: Eduardo, Saad, Gigliotti (Ajaccio), Mandjeck, Lapo (Auxerre), Mariano, Obraniak (Bordeaux), Khaled, Sissoko, Alphonse, Jemaa (Stade Brestois), Montaroup (Caen), Yeboah, Achour, Diabaté, Kumordzi, Koné, Kakuta (Dijon), Kahlenberg, coach Correa (Evian), Cetto, Roux, John Ruiz (Lille), Gassama, Lautoa, Douniama (Lorient), Al-Kamali (Lyon), Mango, Osei, Brandao (Marseille), Puygrenier, Bayal, Mollo (Nancy), Anin, Grandin, coach Marsiglia (Nice), Le Crom, Maxwell, Alex, Thiago Motta, coach Ancelotti (PSG), Diallo, Erding (Rennes), Brison, Aleksic (Saint-Etienne), Banana, Doubai, Davies, Osanga (Sochaux), Aurier (Toulouse), Djuric, Camara (Valenciennes).

Maxime Gonalons was one of the surprises of the previous season and he is the "star player" of Lyon chosen by Panini:

After the Ligue 1 teams, two pages are dedicated to the film of the league ("Le film du Championnat"). It contains 10 extra stickers that were released on two special packets, one on Febraury 7 and the other on June 19 with the magazine "France Football". The first five stickers concern the first half of the season, with the best scorer Giroud (Montpellier), best player Barbosa (Evian), best goalkeeper Sirigu (PSG) and leader of the Ligue (PSG). The second five stickers concern the final results of the season: two stickers for the Ligue 1 champions (Montpellier), one for the Ligue 2 champions (Bastia), one for the best scorer Giroud (Montpellier) and one for the best player of the season Hazard (Lille).

Then we have a section for the Women National Team (2 pages): 18 players on 9 stickers are included:

Ligue 2 teams are placed each on one page with 7 stickers: one gold team logo, one team squad, 5 player stickers (3 players per sticker for a total of 15 players)

Sporting Club de Bastia won Ligue 1, reaching thus the other team from Corsica (Ajaccio) in Ligue 1.

AS Monaco is a noble team just fallen in Ligue 2. They did not manage to get back immediately to the French football élite.

Panini Foot Belgium 2012

Official sticker collection

The Panini collection of Belgian Football League started with the season 1972-1973 and since then it was out every year, reaching the 40th edition with this album of the season 2011-2012. Therefore, it is an important collection, a guaranteed appointment renewed every year.
This Panini Foot 2012 is like a Bible of Belgian Football, as it includes Pro League, Second Division, Third Division and Women League, for a total of 84 teams (in 72 pages)!
The album starts with the Pro League (the Premier League of Belgium) and its 16 teams. Each team is placed on three pages: one page with 6 stickers (silver logo, trainer, 2x uniform kit in fabric, 2x team squad) and the details about the team and the players, and two pages for the teams players (20 stickers for 20 players). The players stickers have a different shape (following the player head) and are placed on a background with a football field in a similar position where they normally play. The two stickers of the team uniform (In and Out) are in a nice fabric material and the team logo is printed on a shining silver foil.
Anderlecht won the season, in front of Club Brugge (2nd) and Gent (3rd).

In the picture below we can appreciate the quality of the silver foil logo and the two team uniform, which are in fabric material:

After the Pro League teams, the team of second division (2de klasse) are shown. The second division is one group of 18 teams and are placed on 6 pages (3 teams per page). The third division (3de klasse) is divided in two groups (A and B) of 18 teams each. The presentation of the 3rd division teams on the album is the same as the 2nd division: 3 teams per page with 2 stickers for 12 players and 1/3 sticker for the silver team logo.
The 3rd division group A has the following teams: Ath, Bertrix, Bleid-Gaume, URL Centre, Coxyde, Deinze, Heppignies-Lambusart-Fleurus, Huy, Olsa-Brakel, Charleroi-Marchienne, Oudenaarde, Mouscron-Peruwelz, Ronse, Torhout, Tournai, Verviers, Virton, KRC Waregem.
