Panini Fussball 96 (Germany)

1996 was a memorable year for German Football. Bayern Munchen won the UEFA Cup, the National Team became European champion at Euro 96, and Matthias Sammer (Borussia Dortmund) won the Ballon d'Or at the end of the year. In the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund won the title with 68 points, six more than Bayern Munchen, and Bobic (Stuttgart) was the top scorer with 17 goals.
The official sticker collection of the Bundesliga 1995/96 was published by Panini, being the 18th Panini "Fussball" album. Like the other Panini albums from the mid-90's, the collection is basic, being rather poor in terms of quality and details. Player stickers are large but they include only the face of the player. Except the Bundesliga teams, there is only one extra section at the end of the album, with ex-Bundesliga players. The album opens with the contents and an introductory page without stickers. Then the 18 Bundesliga clubs are shown following the classification order from the previous season, starting with the title holder Borussia Dortmund. For each club there are 27 or 28 stickers over six pages. On the first page we find the club badge sticker, the team photo (two stickers) and also the mascot sticker but only for ten clubs. In the following three pages there are 18 player portait stickers, whereas in the last two pages the stickers of three players in action (each player is composed by two stickers).
After the Bundesliga clubs, the album concludes with a section of three pages dedicated to ex-Bundesliga players, to thank them for their service in the highest German league (Alles Gute und Vielen Dank!).
