Panini Foot 2001

Foot 2001 is the official sticker collection of the French league 2000/2001. It is the 26th Panini album since the first edition in 1976. Behind an anonymous cover, the album shows all the clubs of Division 1 and Division 2. It includes also a large section dedicated to the victory of France at Euro 2000. It is also the first Foot album for which a complete update set was released.
The album shows first the clubs of Division 1 in alphabetical order. Each club features 19 stickers over four pages: the shiny badge and the team photo (two stickers) on the first page, the possible update stickers on the second page with space for up to three stickers, and 16 player stickers on the last two pages.
The update set (Set Transferts) includes a total of 25 stickers. Some clubs have no additional stickers, whereas other clubs have more than three update stickers. In those cases it is possible to choose the three stickers to place on the album. At the end on this post, we provide a link with the checklist of the update set.
The clubs of Division 2 are included with four stickers per club: the metallic badge, and three stickers with players (four players on each stickers for a total of 12 players).

In the season 2000/2001, Nantes won the championship (68 points) ahead of Olympique Lyon (64 points) and Lille (59 points). Sonny Anderson (Olympique Lyon) was the top scorer with 22 goals, two more than Pauleta (Bordeaux)

As announced earlier in this post, the last part of the album includes a large section with 52 stickers focusing on the French adventure during Euro 2000. The first stickers show the French selection (three stickers) and the manager Roger Lemerre celebrating with the trophy. The following pages focus on the games played by France during Euro 2000. In the group stage they won 3-0 against Denmark (six stickers),  2-1 against Czech Republic (six stickers), and they lost 3-2 against the Netherlands (six stickers). To reach the final they defeated Spain in the quarterfinals (six stickers) and Portugal in the semifinals (six stickers). At last, there are three pages over the final won in the extra time against Italy, with 12 stickers over the game and six stickers to compose a large puzzle of the team celebrating with the trophy.
