In the season 1998-1999, Rangers won the Scottish Premier League title after defeating the rivals Celtic with a 0-3 at Celtic Park on May 2, 1999 and conluding the season with 6 points more than the rivals. Rangers were managed by the Dutch coach Advocaat and they had key players like Amoruso, van Bronckhorst, Kanchelskis, and the English striker Rod Wallace (19 goals). However, the best scorer of the season was by far the Celtic striker Henrik Larsson with 29 goals.
Panini released for the season 1998-99 the sixth album dedicated only to the Scottish league (in the 80's Panini used to merge the Scottish league in the UK Football albums). It is a brilliant collection with large sections dedicated to the Scottish Premier League clubs and a marvelous double page with International football stars, including fancy shiny stickers of famous players (Baggio, Ronaldo, Zidane, etc.).
The album starts with the fixtures of the season and a foreword with two stickers: the SPL logo (shiny sticker) and the official ball. Then the 10 competing clubs are shown in alphabetical order. The main five clubs (Aberdeeen, Celtic, Dundee Utd, Hearts and Rangers) have 40 stickers displaced over 8 pages, whereas the other clubs have 36 stickers over 6 pages, missing four profile player stickers. The stickers included are the team photo (two stickers), the shiny badge, the home and away kit (one sticker numbered and divided in two), the home ground, the nickname of the club (shiny sticker), the supporters, the manager, 18 or 22 profile player stickers (including two stickers of rising stars), and 10 action stickers.
In the center of the album there are two special sections. "Scottish stars" includes 9 stickers of Scottish players in the English Premier League. "International Stars" is a double page with 14 fabulous shiny stickers of famous football stars, mostly playing in the Italian Serie A. Only three of them come from the Spanish Liga (Luis Enrique, Raul and Seedorf).
