The Brazilian Serie A 2001 was a large tournament contested by 28 teams, who played against each other once during the regular season (won by Sao Caetano). The best eight teams qualified to the quarter-finals of the final stage. At the end, Atletico Paranaense won the finals against Sao Caetano (4-2 and 1-0), with four goals of the striker Alex Mineiro. Best scorer of the season Romario (21 goals, Vasco), who was once again not included in the Panini collection, due to copyright issues.
For that season, Panini released the 12th album of the Campeonato Brasileiro, a series started in 1990. The special feature of the album 2001 are the 3D stickers used for the badge, mascot and flag of each club. In addition, there is a 3D sticker on the cover. These stickers are holographic cards that change image based on their inclination.
