Panini Football 84 (France)

In the season 1983/1984, Bordeaux won the Division 1 with a strong team managed by Aimé Jacquet, counting on players like Tigana and Giresse. Michel Platini left the league the season before to join Juventus in Italy. He is tributed in this album with a special section of nine stickers about his positive impact on the Italian football. It was a great season for him, as he won the Cup Champions' Cup with Juventus and the Euro 1984 with France.

Michel Platini is included also in the introductory page of the album, where he signed the foreword and he has a portrait sticker. Clubs of Division 1 are shown in alphabetical order with 18 stickers displaced over two pages: the metallic club badge, the coach, the team photo (two stickers), and 14 players. The two-page section about Michel Platini with Juventus is in between the clubs of Division 1 and Division 2. The nine stickers of this section depict Michel Platini in action with Juventus in the Italian Serie A.

The last part of the album includes the section with the clubs of Division 2, which are divided in Group A with 19 clubs and Group B with 18 clubs. For each group, there is first a page with all the club badge stickers (two badges per sticker) and then the teams are shown with three stickers of players per team. On each sticker there are four players for a total of 12 players per team.

Football 80 en images is the fifth sticker collection of the French football published by Panini. As it states on the cover, it includes the Division 1, the Division 2, and a special section dedicated to Saint-Etienne, the new club of Michel Platini.

The album begins with an introduction including one sticker about the sponsor Europe 1. Then, the 18 clubs of Division 1 are shown in alphabetical order with 17 stickers each over two pages: the metallic club badge, the coach, and 15 players. Player details and career description are printed on the album under each sticker.

The 36 clubs of Second Division are divided in Group A and Group B, each composed by 18 clubs. First, the club badges are shown with half metallic sticker for each club. Then, the squads are presented with six stickers of players, including a total of 12 players for each team. Funnily, all teams are included except Alès, who ended last in Group B.

In the last part of the album there is the section Spécial Saint-Etienne, going through the Champions League 1975/76, when Saint-Etienne reached the final. In this section there are 31 stickers with actions from the games played by Saint-Etienne to reach the final (Glasgow Rangers, Dynamo Kyiv, PSV Eindhoven) and the final lost against Bayern Munchen. In the season 1979/1980, Saint-Etienne got only the third place in Division 1, won by Nantes, and they reached the quarterfinals of the UEFA Cup.
