In the 1977/1978 Serie A, only 16 teams were competing in a two-round tournament. Juventus won the title with 44 points, second place for Vicenza and Torino with 39 points. The Italian striker Paolo Rossi was the top scorer with 24 goals, eight more goals than Giuseppe Savoldi (Napoli), who was second with 16 goals.
The sticker album published by Panini includes the four professional leagues (Serie A, B, C and D). However, there are no stickers for the Serie D. In the collection there is also a section about the National team preparing the World Cup 1978. The album cover is colorful, with some photos of players in action and the badges of the 16 Serie A clubs. The introductory pages of the album shows the calendar of the seasons, with the European cups and the Serie A games. In these pages we find 16 stickers with the Serie A club badges.
Serie A clubs are then shown in alphabetical order with 18 stickers per club over two pages: the team photo and 17 players. Printed on the album there are also all the player details and careers. Before the last Serie A club (Verona) there are four pages about the Italian National team. This section includes 37 stickers over four pages about regular days of the Italian selection: a walk in the city, autographs, training, socialization, games, and even time for some stickers.
The Serie B section starts with the calendar of the season and the badge stickers of the 20 competing clubs (on each sticker there are two club badges). Then for each club there are 8 stickers: the team photo and seven player stickers (two players per sticker for a total of 14 players). On the sides of the club pages there are the badge stickers of the National teams and for each team the summary of the scores against Italy.
Before the Serie C section, there is one page with the team photo stickers of the Italian team at the World Cups from 1934 to 1974. The album ends with the team photo stickers of the 60 clubs competing in the Serie C, divided in three groups.
