Panini Calciatori 2022

 

For the 61st edition, Panini presents a renovated Calciatori collection. The main new feature is the horizontal layout of the player stickers, similar to the Liga Este collection. In this way, there are two photos on each player sticker (portrait and in action). For the sixth consecutive year, the album is released also in a special hardcover edition with slipcover. 

The album begins with an introductory page including four shiny stickers: the Serie A logo and the three official trophies (Serie A, Italian Cup, Supercup). Then the 20 Serie A clubs are shown in alphabetical order. For each club there are 26 stickers over four pages: the club badge (shiny), the coach, the team photo, the home shirt (shiny), and 22 players. For each club there is also an additional sticker with a club legend, called La più amata (the most loved), that can be found in the update set released in March 2022. These stickers are numbered P1-P20 and they find their space in the club pages.

After the presentation of the Serie A clubs, there are some special sections. Player of the month and Coach of the month include the stickers of the players and coaches elected as best of the months from September 2021 to May 2022. These stickers can be found in four special packets Film del Campionato issued with the newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport during the season. The section Avatar includes the stickers of the Serie A avatars together with the TIM sticker to be found in the stores or ordered from Panini. The usual section Calciomercato features this year 40 stickers of new players or new transfers included with the dedicated update set, whereas Film del Campionato shows the best moments of the season throughout 20 stickers, out of which 4 can be found in regular packets and 16 are included in the special packets Film del Campionato. In the section Azzurri da sogno there are the stickers of the best Italian prospects, for a total of 15 stickers (two players per stickers), whereas Top Performers features the best performer of the Serie A clubs, with 10 stickers of 20 players. The Women's Serie A is again included with the usual team photo stickers, but there are no individual player stickers yet, as proposed in the Belgian Pro League album.

The clubs of Serie B are included with a total of seven stickers: the shiny badge and six stickers of players for a total of 18 players (three players per stickers). The collection features also the club badges of Serie C with four badges on one sticker, whereas the Serie D shows the competing clubs but there are no stickers.

In the season 2021/2022, AC Milan won the Serie A title, whereas Inter won the Supercup and the Italian Cup defeating Juventus in the final (4-2). Ciro Immobile was the top scorer of the league with 27 goals and he was elected the best forward of the season. The other awards were given to Mike Maignan (best goalkeeper), Gleison Bremer (best defender), Marcelo Brozovic (best midfielder), Leao (best overall player), and Victor Osimhen (best Under-23).
