Panini Campeonato Brasileiro 1997

The Brazilian championship 1997 was contested by 26 teams in a regular season, followed by a second phase with the best 8 teams and the final played over two legs. Vasco da Gama won the title after a double 0-0 against Palmeiras due to the advantage based in prior results. 

The Panini sticker collection of the league includes only 18 teams, because eight clubs did not grant the rights for the album: Palmeiras, Santos, Botafogo, Gremio, Sport, America de Natal, Atletico Paranaense, Cruzeiro are therefore not in the album. However, Panini could get individual rights for some of the players and included them in a section at the end of the album.  

The collection starts with the table of contents and the foreword by the editor. The first section of the album is dedicated to the Brazilian legend Zico. In these two pages there are 10 stickers of Zico (5 shiny) and a description of his career and football style.

The second section collects all the club mascots with 18 stickers in two pages ("Os mascotes do Brasileirao"). Then the 18 clubs included are shown in alphabetical order. For each club there are 15 stickers: the shiny badge and 14 players. Club pages include also the career of each player printed on the album.

After the Serie A clubs, the album summarizes in one page the previous Brasileiro albums published by Panini. Here we find eight shiny stickers of the covers 1990-1997.

As mentioned before, some players of the clubs not included in this album gave rights to Panini to publish their image individually. All these players are collected in the section "Atletas", which includes 42 stickers of players without their club shirt.

The last two sections of this album are "Curiosidades do Brasileirao", 42 stickers about fun facts of the history of the Brazilian championship, and "Os destaques do Brasileirao", 30 stickers with some of the best players in action.
