The Apertura
2005 was the first tournament of the Primera Division championship 2005/2006, followed by the Clausura 2006. All of the
20 competing teams played once against each other. Boca Juniors of
Rodrigo Palacio (10 goals) won the title with 40 points in 19 games. The best
scorer of the tournament was Javier Campora (Tiro Federal, 13 goals). In this
tournament we found some young Argentinian rising stars (Lavezzi, Aguero,
Palacio) and some legends at the end of their football career (Pablo Montero
and Diego Simeone).
The sticker
collection Apertura 2005 is the second official album of the Argentinian league
produced by Panini, following the first ever release Panini Clausura
2005. The album has a simple layout, including two pages and 16 stickers for
each of the 20 competing clubs and no extra sections with stickers. For each
club there are two special stickers: the club badge printed on a transparent
foil and the caricature of the star player on a metallic foil. All the player
stickers (12 per team) are “in action”, as usual for the first Argentinian Panini albums. A particular feature of this album is that club pages include
also a photo of players in action in which there are three gaps that are completed
by three different stickers (often player faces or feet).
