In the season 1990/1991, Anderlecht won the Belgian championship with 53 points, three more than Mechelen, with the goals of the strikers Luc Nilis (19 goals) and Luis Oliveira (18 goals). Erwin Vandenbergh (Gent) was the top goalscorer of the championship with 23 goals. Other relevant players of the league were Jan Ceulemans, Josip Weber, Klas Ingesson and André Cruz.
The official sticker collection of the Belgian football was released by Panini with the album Football 91. The collection includes all the clubs of Division 1 and Division 2. The album starts with an introductory page with the stickers of the best "revelations" of the previous season (Frank Farina and Lieven Heymans) and a team photo of Belgium composed by six metallic stickers.
The clubs of Division 1 have 17 stickers over two pages: the metallic club badge, the team photo (two stickers), and 14 players. Clubs of Division 2, which are shown right after, have only three stickers, two for the team photo and one for the club badge (not metallic). The last part of the album includes two special sections. The first one with the coaches of Division 1 (18 stickers) and the second one with the main Belgian referees (four stickers).
