Panini Calciatori 2016 is a collection rich and fancy as tradition for the series Calciatori, starting from the silver cover with the flags of the Serie A teams in relief. The album opens with the calendar of the season and the first shining sticker composed by two stickers of the official ball of the competition for the summer and the winter. The introductory page includes two shining stickers: the trophy and logo of Serie A.
Then Serie A teams are shown in alphabetical order, each team displaced over two pages. The first two pages include details and records of the club, the careers of all the players, and six stickers: the club logo (special fabric material), the team photo (two stickers), and the kits of the team (three transparent stickers for the home, away and third kit). The other two pages have space for 23 stickers (22 players and the coach) and for mini-stickers of the rest of the squad that are included in the update set.
Club logos are made of fabric (satin)
Stickers of the kit are transparent and to be glued on a schematized player
Team photos are composed by two stickers
After the Serie A teams there is a special section "Calcio Mercato" with 50 stickers of players and coaches transferred in the winter market. These stickers are found in the update set released in the spring 2016.
The section "Il Film del Campionato" tells the story of the season 2015/2016 through 30 stickers numbered from V1 to V30. The first six stickers of "Inizio stagione" (season beginning) are included in normal packets, whereas the other subsections (winter phase, spring phase, sprint to the championship, and final verdicts) can be found in four separate packets released by the sport newspaper "Gazzetta dello Sport" along the season. Juventus won the Scudetto and Gonzalo Higuain was the top scorer of the season.
Serie B section starts with the calendar of the season and the first shining sticker divided in two parts with the logo and the official ball of the competition. Each team is displaced on one page with a shining logo (half sticker), the team photo, 18 players and the coach (all half stickers). The total is thus 11 stickers for each team. Cagliari, Crotone and Pescara were promoted and they will play in Serie A in the season 2016/2017.
Lega Pro section (Italian third division) includes all the stickers of club photos (half sticker) and logos (1/4 of a sticker) of the participating teams divided by groups A, B and C (18 teams per group).
Serie D (Amateur league) reports all the participating teams divided by groups. These two pages include two shining stickers with the logos of the league (each logo is 1/4 of a normal size sticker).
The closing section of the album ("Raffigura") is dedicated to the mascots of Serie A teams, with 20 stickers chosen among the drawings sent by people participating to the contest. These stickers are numbered from X1 to X20
Update set
As usual Panini released an updated set of this collection in the spring. The update includes 50 stickers of new players transferred during the winter market to be glued in the dedicated section and several mini-stickers of these and other players of the squad to be glued in each team page. Mini stickers with the word "TRASFERITO" (=transferred) or "SOSTITUITO" (=substituted) can be glued on top of the players/coaches that left the club during the winter market session. The list of transfers is also included in the set.
